Upon stepping in the cloning machine, Dr. Eggman walked into the room and tampered with the cloning machine, giving the clones aggressive characteristics.
Later that year the location was shut down and the clones were left to rot.
During this time, for unknown reasons, Yoshi became so frustrated with Mario that she slammed his face on a stove, burning his face and melting through until his skull was visible. Mario's arm also became infected, and too prevent the infection from spreading, it was cut off, due to the fact that they couldn't heal him with their limited resources. Two years later the clones were shipped to a new location with animatronics, however that location was also closed down. Mario and his friends were sent to a storage unit and remained there until 2027. One night Mario woke up to find Sonic not on the show stage.
He wandered through the location until Eggman revealed himself and stabbed Mario, killing him. Mario, Yoshi and Tails appeared as spirits to confront Eggman, who was with Salvage Sonic.
